Collected at night in 2m undercut in sea cliff, Flying Fish Cove, Christmas Island, Indian Ocean. This area is subject to large swells and cowries from this area are generally heavy and calloused.
This beautiful, heavy shell has 2 minor faults - a glazed chip in the columellar anterior flange and a small growth ridge low on posterior labial side. Beautiful dorsal pattern with mantle line. |
