| Note | Exceptional wonder among murex, this specimen magnifies the best features of this species in an amazing albinistic, nearly albino, color form. Seven varices of backswept profoundly curved spines, uniform body whorl and spine hues, beautiful balanced form with perfect apex, spire and aperture lips highlight this extraordinary rock shell. Strong weight/size ratio, intact spines throughout and exceptional symmetry highlight a "one in a million" cornucervi. The shell was collected at extreme low tide off Dampier, Western Australia circa 2005. The shell shows minor chipping on one side of the siphonal canal terminus. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
