| Note | Heavy weight, large and wonderfully pigmented cone from north French Polynesia. The shell shows a sharp shoulder, beautiful pattern on the perfect spire with classic dark/light lavender and faded blush/red banding complemented by one complete band of egg-shell white longitudinal flammules. Excellent wide shape and form with an intact protococh, spire, flawless lip and notch. Collected by diver Paul Kanner while buried in sand under a flat rock at 25-30 meters in the southeast entrance of Tiaohae Bay, Nuka Hiva, Marquesas in 9/2003. The specimen shows one modest growth disruption on the lateral mid-body whorl. Grade: F+++. |
