| Note | Heavy Hawaiian specimen with an excellent weight/size ratio, heavily calloused and beams proudly a high nacre gloss. The shell has a thick calloused base with a typical heavy array of dorsal banding and deep pigmentation. Purple teeth complement the beautifully hyper-glazed base.  There is a light longitudinal color line on the dorsum not seen in the photographs. Scuba diver collected at night under ledge nested on a yellow sponge at 8 meters off Kaena Point, Oahu, Hawaii in 1/2020. The specimen shows a subnacre glazed short scratch on the anterior columellar ramp. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
