| Note | Solid and colorful example of the "gibba" arabica form. This desirable subspecies exhibits calloused, moderately tuberculated and flared porcelain-like margins with nude/orange flesh toned porcelainized lateral walls/margins with lavish marginal spotting. Balanced reticulated pattern layered with a subtle dorsal line traversing over a blue/grey dorsum background integrated with melting/sparse maculae. The shell has a high weight/size ratio, perfect extremities and brilliant glossy nacre (46.7g). The gibba was collected by sea gipsy divers at 4-6 meters on a local reef off Racha Islands, Phuket, Thailand in 2016. The specimen has no major flaws, only a mild subnacre wobble on the anterior columellar ramp seen under scrutiny. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
