| Note | Heavy weight, with a unique depressed form, hyper-calloused swollen margins, lovely dense macular pattern and a strikingly narrow aperture characterize this shell. This is possibly an intermediate to the pardalis subspecies. The thick, rounded and accentuated margins are astounding. The aperture teeth are actually absent on the labral posterior aperture. The shell is ultra heavy like a little brick, with a high weight/size ratio (104.6g). The shell was collected by compressor diver at 25 meters off Masbate Island, west of Samar, Philippines in 1/2022. The shell has some micro-glazed sand inclusions on the columellar posterior ramp. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
