| Note | A magnificent and large example of a famous and always sought after species. The broadly cylindrical specimen has a respectful weight/size ratio (77.6 grs), excellent body whorl gloss with a perfect spire and natural lip. The shell displays three wonderful golden brown body whorl bands, fine axial lines, and the classic array and maze of thousands of fine small and large tents distributed over the body whorl and spire. Exceptional example for a rather large shell of this species. The shell was live collected by compression diver on a coral reef off Nonoc Island, Surigao Strait, Philippines at 10-15 meters in the 80's. The shell displays hard to see micro-erosion of the protoconch and two soft growth folds. Grade: F+++. |
