Looking for Octopus for food I was surprise after seen this beauty, This Nodipecten arthriticus was devoured by an octopus making a hole in the umbo part not really detracting the beauty. The shell is so fresh and beautiful, with amazing detailed sculpture , stunning radial ribs. Deep and intensive orange color in the umbo part. Brown purple colors all around the valves. Inside the ventral sides are coming with shiny white color and brown-reddish around the wavy lip. Some moderately developed nodes in one side. Really rare species in my area, hard to find alive, here A fresh dead from Octopus cave. Do not miss this great beauty. Found inside Octopus cave between corals and thick white sand about 8m deep. Tenacatita, Jalisco, Mexico. December 2024. Value for this rarity and purplish-orange special piece: 55-65 euro. ATTENTION!!!
