Family | Fissurellidae |
Name | Fissurella crassa , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 53 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | One nice specimen of Fissurella crassa. These have always Scurria parasitica specimens living in their dorsums and thus have almost always scars or eroded shells. This is a common specimen, with a Scurria scar and erosion by the same Scurria scraping algae on the shell of the Fissurella crassa. The border of the shell has no chips or nicks and the interior is in excellent condition. |
