| Note | Brightly colored and rare South Seas cone that displays the desirable mottled crimson/brick red pattern, interrupted by white dotted/tented banding. The large specimen displays excellent nacre gloss, axial ribbing and moderate heavy weight for it's size. Collected by Scuba diver Julian Lee on sand bottom at 25 meters west of Taiohae Bay, Nuka Hiva, Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia in 2022. The shell shows a deep growth fold and transverse fold on the columellar dorsal body whorl and shallow chipping on the thin natural lip. There is a self-repaired area on the anterior lip/notch/aperture area. The shell comes with the original operculum and has a perfect spire and protoconch. Grade: F+/F++. |
