NoteRemarkable and excellent example of a hard to find California murex. Scuba diver collected off Santa Barbara, California. The shell displays an intact spire, body whorl, aperture and siphonal canal. The shell was collected on the side of a rocky outcropping on sand/gravel bottom located between a kelp forest at 20-25 meters in 2015. This older and desirable specimen shows the typical wear and tear on the protoconch and wings evident from punishment by rough surf conditions and tumbling around in California waters. Grade: F++/F+++.
