| Note | EXTREMELY RARE LONG BRANCHED SCALES WOOOOOOW!! Irus ellipticus sp. This should be a new species!! I have found some of them after some oyster trips, they are attached inside dead or live oyster shells between. I have found 3 specimens in all the 3 days trip and this here is the most beautiful with fantastic scales! a tiny line band in both valves combined with dark cloudy dots. Extreme long and branched wide scales like flowered forms. First time I can offer the most elegant scales ever!! for advancer collectors and lovers of aesthetic shells. This is a species that needs to be studied, maybe a new species of Irus. Magnificent masterpiece Gem-F+++. Found attached inside a dead shell of giant oyster about 6-8m deep. Playa Piratas, near Arroyo Seco, Jalisco, Mexico. January 2025. Value for this rarity with the most extended and wavy scales ever: 38-45 euro. MEXICO PACIFIC. |
