Extremely large, solid specimen with orange/brown pigmentation This is a sought after species, primarily for the flesh, which is prized table fare in Argentina and Brazil. The shell presents with undulating brown longitudinal strips on the body whorl and spire. The specimen has a perfect spire and protoconch. Trawled at 50-70 meters by fishing boat in 12/2014 off Neocochea, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. The specimen displays a series of pits on the dorsal body whorl, erosion of the anterior lip and notch with a shaved lip to the anterior aspect. Consistent with a "rough and tumble" life making it a "big dog." Grade: F+/F++.
