| Note | Exquisite specimen from western Panama. The large shell has a bright cherry pink/lavender and black/brown glossy aperture/columella. It demonstartes an elongated siphonal canal and superb display of five varices with deep pink foliated spines. The shell has a strong weight to size ratio (173 grams), superb form and an exceptional spine array. The regius has a flawless spire, apex and main body whorl. A standout collectors' piece and "regal" specimen. Collected off Pedro González Island, west Panama on sand next to rocks at 2-3 meters by free-diver circa 2010. The shell shows slight erosion of the outer aperture lip, minor chipping of the anterior siphon and negligible spine erosion with no visible broken spines. Grade: F+++. |
