| Note | This is a rare specimen, a hybrid between M. cervus and zebra f. cerebra (Lorenz, Chiapponi & Mont 2012). The specimen displays excellent/high nacre gloss, remarkable and profound dorsal and lateral spotting pattern and a clear wide grey/brown dorsal line. The specimen exhibits an excellent weight/size ratio (55.6 grams) and thick rounded margins. The hybrid was collected by Scuba diver Les Crnkovic in 4/2021 off Antón Lizardo, Veracruz, Mexico. The shell displays a shallow mini-scraped chip area (ding) on the ventral anterior columellar extremity tip and a micro-drill hole attempt on the posterior columellar lateral wall. Grade: F+++. |
