| Note | Unique inflated specimen with four striking chocolate-hued bands, impressive nacre gloss, moderate rostration and a modest array of distinct marginal and lateral wall nodules/tubercles. The shell displays perfect extremities, thick rounded margins and bright purple aperture teeth. Excellent example of the subspecies. The specimen was collected at 38-40 meters by Scuba diver on the British Battle Cruiser, HMS Repulse, that sunk on 12/10/41. The specimen was found on the port side of the vessel located northeast of Kuantan, Malaysia in 6/2011. The shells shows minor negligible subnacre flecks on the columellar anterior ramp. Grade: GEM minus. |
