Note | The excellent, beautiful glossy nacre stands out with two mild beige transverse bands gracing an immaculate cream white dorsum. This specimen is an excellent representative of this rarer form of thersites. The shell has admirable form, moderate size/weight, profound inflation, with peach-hued spotting on both lateral walls and margins (51.1 grams). The shell demonstrates albinistic characteristics and light color hues on both extremities with a perfectly blended peach hued base. The dorsum is brilliant and demonstrates superb lustre. The specimen was located and collected by trawler off the Great Australian Bight, Port Lincoln, Western Australia circa 1995. The specimen presents some very fine, difficult to see without targeted lighting, shallow growth lines on the dorsum. Grade: GEM minus. |
