| Note | Beauty specimen ROV collected from a finger sponge on silty sand with very sparse sessile growth in 128 metres of water. Found west north west of Thevenard Island. The shell has heavy dark chocolate and tan spots on a beige dorsum, brown siphon trim and a faint apricot colored base. Graded Fine+++/Gem- as it is a little growthy to the top of dorsum.
I not sure if I will further specimens given how remote the habitat is, the cost and effort of accessing that location and at my age nearing retirement. Very select specimen from our personal collection with intense dark dorsal spotting. |
