This specimen is a very fresh dead shell we collected from silty sand in 256 metres of water west of Bernier Island during July 2024.
As can be seen in the photos, It has a nice lip and a growth breaks on it's labial side the result of a close encounter with a crab. We see this in nearly all volutes we collect from depths greater than 180 metres. The shell has a nice tented pattern and great dorsal display with a unique cream patch! A very Rare Volute graded Fine+ due to some damage to it's siphon and the growth interruption above it's lip.
