Collected from sand in 32 metres of water off Busselton in Geographe Bay. Geographe Bay specimens are noticeable smaller and more colorful than specimens found on our south coast.
At first I thought the shells were juveniles but have realized that few specimens, including old eroded shells, exceed 60mm in length and have concluded that it is a dwarf population. Most are mauve brown in colour but this specimen is a deep yellow with dark rays.
The measurement used is the specimens greatest dimension. Gem.
