| Note | Superb specimen from the Eastern Pacific. The large shell has an appealing flamingo pink/lavender/rose pink aperture fused with a black/brown colored and adherent glossy columella superiorly. Appears like aperture art. It demonstrates an elongated siphonal canal and superb display of five varices with deep inlayed flamingo pink foliated spines complementing all varices. The shell has a strong weight to size ratio (201.9 grams), superb form and an exceptional spine formation array. The regius has a flawless spire, apex and main body whorl. Collected off Pedro González Island, west Panama on sand next to rocks at 2-3 meters by free-diver circa 2010. The shell shows some minor blemishes on the body whorl and minor chipping of the anterior siphon. Grade: F+++. |
