| Note | Unique patterned shell among the many textile cones available. We don't see too many shells coming from Kenya, but his is one of them. Great coloring and dynamic pattern with giant tents and absorbing criss cross pattern printed on the primary burnt orange body whorl color. The shell is an outstanding specimen with a heavy size/weight ratio (143.7 grams) and shows moderate nacre gloss, . The specimen was taken by Scuba diver at 18-20 meters proximal to a large reef under a dead coral slab on sand off Mombasa, Kenya, East Africa circa 2000. The heavy weight shell has mini-chipping of the natural lip, two deep growth folds on the body whorl, erosion of the spire, and a short growth disruption on the spire proximal to the shoulder. Grade: F+/F++. |
