| Note | Strongly patterned and rare South Seas cone that displays a bright mottled crimson/brick red pattern, interrupted by remarkable white dotted/tented banding. The specimen displays excellent nacre gloss, axial cording and moderate heavy weight for it's size (23.0 grams). The shell has a desirable thick natural lip with no detectable chipping. Collected by Scuba diver Paul Kanner on sand bottom at 25 meters west of Taiohae Bay, Nuka Hiva, Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia in 2010. The shell shows a mini-nick of the protoconch. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
