| Note | Heavy, large impressive, and beautifully proportioned specimen (11.8 mm short of the registered WR). The shell presents with a beautifully sculptured spire, wide varices, thick natural lip, porcelain-like aperture, excellent siphonal canal and strong patterning. The body whorl is impressive, adorned with sandstone and marigold orange tones, complementing the sweeping axial ribs. Heavy specimen at 613.8 grams. Collected by local fishermen in fishing nets at 30-40 meters off Cearà, Brazil circa 2000. The shell has excellent form and does show minor apex erosion and a small dark growth disruption area on the dorsal spire above the shoulder. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
