Note | Heavy, glossy, thick nacred eastern Pacific Ocean specimen. The shell shows a solid thick lip and and strong presence of a golden primary body whorl hue. The black/brown longitudinal pattern and spotting are unique to this particular specimen, embroidered on the grandma koala grey/soft and glowing yellow primary color. The unique aperture displays pale white and lavender tones that enhance the appearance of the thick and solid lip. The specimen has a rusty blotch on the posterior ventral whorl and demonstrates a heavy weight/size ratio (112.8 grams). Collected by free diver plowing through sand at 6-8 meters off Punta Chivato, Baja California Sur, Mexico in 1976. The shell does present with a chipped protoconch. Grade: F+++. |
