| Note | Deep hued, brilliant sparkling nacre gloss and strongly spotted heavy Hawaiian endemic. Definitive chocolate brown dorsal line, spectacular pattern and a classic array of black dorsum spotting highlight this exemplary specimen. The additional rich primary colors of blue/slate grey, shades of gold and cream complement the dorsum and overall impressive visual impact of this schilderiana. The shell is heavy, thick nacred and in remarkably exceptional condition (187.3 grams).Taken by Scuba diver on night dive at 25-20 meters nested on a coral reef shelf off North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii in 8/2022. Present are shallow dorsal subnacre folds on the columellar dorsum. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
