Here is an OUTSTANDING specimen that shows just how AMAZING this subspecies of Z.marginata can be! An ULTRA DARK DORSUM which is a mixture of shades of red, dark brown, gold and orange is about as dark as these shells get before turning into the ultra rare "black" forms. It exhibits a VERY BIG SIZE at well over 60mm which is compounded by the SUPER FLARED GREY MARGINS which is separated from the dorsum by a VIBRANT THICK BLUE HALO on the marginal side of the shell which is very rare in Z.marginata! Images really do speak for themselves with the specimen and if not for a tiny bite on the margin it would easy be a 1500E shell! F+++ with some very minor lines and a tiny chip on the front margin near the anterior canal. Live taken on an orange and white Geodia sp.B sponge on the roof of a large limestone cavern at 12m by Jon Daly. South of Stragglers Reefs, Off Fremantle W.A.
