| Note | Intense yellow hued, lime green veiled pattern, low profile and rostrate money cowrie from the Indian Ocean. The marvelous thick margins, perfect extremities, thick glossy nacre, large posterior tubercles and low structural profile make this superb specimen unique, highly collectable and "on the money." Heavy for its size, the moneta features many desirable attributes including rostration, super thick margins and perfect extremities (9.4 grams). Collected at low tide under rocks south of Mombasa. Kenya in 1998. The shell demonstrates a light crease on the anterior extremity. Grade: GEM minus. |
