Name | Umbilia armeniaca westralica - DARK AND ADORABLE , Vercoi 1912 |

Note | Adorable example of Umbilia, with distinctive marigold orange/burnt orange dorsal botch, thick glossy nacre and perfect extremities that are highlighted by darker burnt orange hues. The shell is moderately heavy for its size (68.8g) and shows remarkable form and a subtle mantle line paired by rows smaller dots, a classic pattern advantage for collectors. The shell is wonderfully inflated, well rostrated and exquisite example of this sub-variety. Trawled at 130-150 meters off the western Great Australian Bight, Eucla, Western Australia. There is a heavily glossed shallow fold on the posterior ramp. GEM minus. |
