NoteHere is a very unusual example of a DEEPWATER cribraria from the West Coast of Western Australia.The VERY PALE dorsum is a soft yellow/orange colour which distinguishes it clearly from C.rottnestensis found further south around the Perth/Rottnest Island area and VERY HIGH CALLOUS on both sides of the shell which is very appealing. The shape is very similar to C. abrolhensis but is far larger than typical specimens and I have no knowledge of any C.abrolhensis being found as far as this so i am hesitant to assign it a species. This certainly a UNIQUE SHELL of which is a must have for any C.cribraia connoisseur. Dead collected with some nacre loss but presents very nicely. Found dead in sand hole in low-moderate limestone reef amongst short seagrass and sponges at 32m. West of Jurien Bay, W.A. February 2025 *White marks are from camera reflection.
