| Note | Strongly-glazed, symmetrically balanced and a remarkable dark dorsal blotch pattern characterize this rostrate example of Austrasiatica. This beauty exhibits moderate inflation, flawless extremities and a thick, glossy nacre. The ivory tan background shows mild/fine patterns highlighting the columellar lateral wall. Perfect extremities, dorsum, and ivory colored flawless base. Trawled off Taiwan in the East China Sea at 120-140 meters in 10/2010. The specimen has minor subnacre ripples present on the anterior ramp. Grade: GEM minus. |
