| Note | Large heavy shell with strong nacre gloss (44.3 grams). Profound rotund posterior extremity, glossy base with a short display of teeth in the anterior labral aperture and strong spotting on the columellar lateral wall, diffuse on the labral wall. The shell show a strong dorsal line and a classic dorsal blotch, subdued by imbedded algae inclusions. Collected by locals in shallow water at low tide on muddy/sand between sponges and algae off Masirah Island, Oman in the early 90s. Ex Don Bosch collection. The shell has palpable roughness on the columellar anterior tip, growth creases on the anterior ramp and characterized by typical subnacre opaque-like delaminations throughout the base and dorsum (not considered defects). Grade: F+++. |
