| Note | Solid specimen with an amazing array of intense spotting on the dorsum and lateral walls. The shell shows a deep glossy nacre, has strong aesthetic appeal and is a highly collectable example of the species, having rare pastel orange pigmented extremities. The outstanding bright white spotting arrangement is tightly focused on the labial lateral wall, with a generous dispersion of spots on the dorsum and columellar lateral wall. The shell features a pronounced lateral line, three subtle dark dorsal bands, remarkable form, color and a moderate size/weight ratio. Collected by Scuba diver at 30 meters on a reef crevice east of Mayport, Florida in 7/1998. There is an area of over-glazed mini-granules on the posterior mid-dorsum and ramps. Grade: F+++. |
