| Note | One very nice and rather large specimen of Trochita trochiformis. These snails live on rocks and on the shells of other snail species. They usually have very ugly shells, but the present specimen is very nice, preserving most of its periostracum and having a very nice septum (lip), which is often broken (I have seen many specimens online with very broken lips), but with a nice dorsum which preserves part of its periostracum but which is not eroded and has small damage as can be seen in the images. A low price for an interesting species. A low initial price for an interesting and hard to obtain specimen of Trochita trochiformis. |
