Name | Scurria parasitica - Very Nice, Selected , (A. d'Orbigny, 1841) |
Size | 17.1 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | One very nice specimen of Scurria parasitica. This species lives exclusivelly onto the shells of large Fissurella and Chitonidae species and it is endemic of PerĂº and Chile. This particular specimen is selected, it has excellent interior of the shell with no boring marks or damages, excellent borders and a very good dorsum of the shell, with minimal erosion and which shows the color pattern of alternating rays, as it can be seen in the images. Usually these species have either dorsums covered with calcareous algae or very eroded dorsums. These are the best for the species. A low price for an interesting lot of uncommon limpets. |
