| Note | One very nice live-collected specimen of Trochita trochiformis. These snails live on rocks and on the shells of other snail species. They usually have very ugly shells, but the present specimen is very nice, having a nice dorsum with little erosion and preserving most of its periostracum.The specimen has a very nice septum (lip) with some minuscule chips. The septum is often broken in this species as it is very fragile (I have seen many specimens online with very broken lips). The interior of the shell of this specimen is also very nice, of white color with some pinkish and dark markings, and it is very shiny. A very low initial price for an interesting and hard to obtain specimen of Trochita trochiformis. |
