| Note | F++. Rare and interesting. An unusual form of the C. canonicus, figured by G. Raybaudi in Poppe, shown as textile var. tigrinus by Tryon (1884). The shell shown by Sowerby was later reshown by Da Motta with other such shaped and bizarre colored shells in La Conchiglia (1982). Ultra rare gold color, few collections got this item. Two pieces in the past went very high (255-260 EUR). A “Noble” Conus.
