GEM. The stainforthii has the tremendous color range and here we offer an extraordinary piece with delicate pastels hidden in dark patches of dark brown and even black. This is a tricolor shell with one almost black band, a pale central band: white with speckles, and a third band above the siphonal canal with golden orange tones. On top of the nice size - 45 mm in the better size range for Philippine stainforthii - the shell is heavily sculptured all over: granulated slightly with a strong spiral sculpture. A thing of beauty. As far as we could see in the literature, this color form or similar shells - usually less spectacular but the same - only come from the Philippines.
