| Note | THE BIGGEST EXCEPTIONAL Monoplex vestitus ever from Barra de Navidad!! I don't remember having found such giant individuals in the past, even though the information on this species tells us that it can reach sizes up to 130mm but I have never found an individual as big as this one for years looking for them. This grandfather at 82.1mm is the largest I have ever found without a doubt and in the best condition you will ever see. This one I found in a muddy area with almost no rocks, something rare and unique for this species, as they like to hide among rocks and camouflage themselves among algae and mud. Something very impressive about this one is the colossal thickness of this lip and its beautiful and high denticles, unique! The natural conditions hair periostracum makes an amazing effect all around this beauty. Unique robust body form with stunning sculpture. Awesome species always hiding in the stones almost impossible to find, with a periostracum with a lot of hair that assimilates the algae between the stones, this species in Mexico is not common and usually comes with bad conditions from complete erosion of the body and scars caused by fish bites. This jewel is in incredible natural condition and really exceptional even if you clean. Seldom seen species in my area. Special dark color. Extremely thick lip with extra elevated undulated denticles and awesome ribs at the inner columella side with black background and white tiger tiny stripes, original operculum, apex absent as usual for this giant size otherwise Gem!! For advancer collectors!! F+++-Gem. Found attached between stones about 6m deep. Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, Mexico. March 2025.
