GEM. A better than average YELLOW C. kinoshitai with two solid yellow spiral bands bordered by rows of brown irregular flecks. This species belongs to a complex of Conus that are usually violet-purple in coloration, but which may turn up yellow. There is only one yellow specimen among hundreds of violet-purple ones, and all these species live deep. HYPOTYPE in the twin books: 1000 Shells, exceptionals from the Philippines.
