| Note | One nice and very large specimen of Trochita trochiformis. These snails live on rocks and on the shells of other snail species. They usually have very ugly shells, but the present specimen is rather nice, with a nice dorsum preserving some of its periostracum, but with some barnacles which can be cleaned further with patience. The interior of the shell is very nice, shiny, with some yellowish and bluish marking, but the septum (lip) has some damage, as can be seen in the photos (septums are very often broken, and I have seen many specimens online with very broken septums). A very low initial price for a large, interesting and hard to obtain specimen of Trochita trochiformis. |
