F+++. ALL GRAY-BROWN ASSIMILIS IN FINE CONDITION. A Conus assimilis with the typical globose shape an light weight, but with an almost full dark brown pattern on a white background. Conus assimilis has been described on an Australian specimen with a speckled pattern, as can be seen from the lectotype fig. 10 in RKK. This coloration is exceptional within the species. The dark brown zones are covered with even darker spiral bands. Out of thousands, only one. Remark that the shell is in fine condition only, with a slightly smoothed lip. But few pieces can match its coloration! HYPOTYPE in the twin books: 1000 Shells, exceptionals from the Philippines.
