| Note | Heavy Hawaiian specimen with a high weight/size ratio, similar to a little paper weight (59.2 grams). A real solid shell with four intensely super bright colored bands. The shell shows a thick calloused base with perfect extremities. Purple teeth in the aperture characterize the super glazed base showing some typical subnacre concave indentations. There is a light transitional color line array on the dorsum as seen in the photographs. Collected by Scuba diver at night under ledge at 7-8 meters feeding on yellow sponges off Makaha, West Shore, Oahu, Hawaii in 8/2016. The specimen shows minor subnacre dorsal blemishes and a small orange glazed blister on the mid-labral base/teeth margin, as seen in the upper center image. Grade; F+++. |
