| Note | Strongly spotted/mottled dorsal pattern with thick calloused margins and perfect siphons make this large extraordinary stercoraria a collectors showpiece. The orange background color just bounces into eye-sight and illuminates the shell when held in hand. Hyper-glossy, heavy weight/size ratio, amazing glazed porcelain-like lateral walls and margins (141.2 grams). This Atlantic Ocean beauty has a perfect base, aperture and extremities. Taken by free diver in shallow water (1-2 meters) off Pointe des Almadies, Dakar, Senegal, West Africa in 6/2021. The Trona displays a subnacre glossed over algae blemish patch on the columellar ramp as seen in images. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
