Zoila jeaniana jeaniana - Ultra Rare White Shell ! , (C. N. Cate, 1968)
Size
71.3 mm
Locality
False Entrance, WA
Note
Ultra rare white jeaniana collected from a geodia sponge in 110 metres of water west of False Entrance off Shark Bay. We have found that white is the rarest colour form of jeaniana and over the years we have only five or six. This specimen has fine sparse dorsal pepper spots and a cream base.
The shell presents well but unfortunately has had it's posterior siphon chipped. It also has a dorsal growth fold. This has been well healed with a generous amount of additional nacre. Without this issue I would price the shell at 8,000 euro.
It is unlikely I will find additional specimens prior to my retirement. Graded Fine+/Fine++.
