Size
111.6 mm
Locality
Philippines
Note
GEM. Surprising piece with a UNIQUE pattern in which the usually diffuse flecks change into well defined “tents”, typical for many Conus. This coloration is more as seen in the very rare and small C. eldredi from Tahiti (See Robin, 2008). UNIQUE and beautiful. HYPOTYPE in the twin books: 1000 Shells, exceptionals from the Philippines. It is one of the three most toxic seashells in the world.
Philippines. Surigao. 10-25 m. September 2011.
