Endemoconus ione - SPECIAL COLOR RIBBED , Fulton, 1938
Size
45.5 mm
Locality
Philippines
Note
GEM. A SPECIAL COLOR shell. The middleman selling us this nice Conus was excited, and I became even more excited within seconds after touching and looking more closely to the shell: this specimen of ione is RIBBED. It’s the first ribbed one we have ever seen in this species, and none have ever been figured in the literature. What corresponds in fact to “granulate” in other species.
Philippines. Siquijor. Tangle nets. 100-150 m. 2013.
