Item | # 0003690698 |
Family | CEPHALOPODA |
Name | Octopus mimus - Set of beaks , Gould, 1852 |
Size | 20 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | One very nice and complete set of beaks (largest dimension about 20 mm for one beak), of the common octopus from the southeastern Pacific Octopus mimus. This set of beaks was extracted from a specimen of about 80 cm which was collected by fishermen in northern Chile. The beaks are in perfect condition and have still some soft tissue attached and the buccal mas with the radula in ethanol. I will send the specimen inside its small glass flask with minimum ethanol as per post office guide. This is a surprisingly difficult-to-obtain Natural History Specimen, but I will begin with a low initial price for this lot. |
