| Note | F+++. A spectacular OLIVE colored specimen with several features that are highly unusual, placing this piece among the UNIQUE Conus-specimens that deserve a piece in major collections, either museum collections, collections of rare shells or advanced Conus collections. The big size is combined with a sharp shoulder and a flattened spire. The body whorl raises slightly over the spire, resulting in a raised shoulder. This is even more pronounced after a small growth accident on the shoulder - the only defect in the shell which is rather a quality in this case. Below the shoulder is a rare white cream band with two small darker bands around it. The sides are very “straight”. The pattern consists of a multitude of fine spiral bands, changing in density, all over the body whorl. The interior a porcellaneous white inside with a thick lip which is not filed. Inside the aperture the white of the inside changes into a deep purple brown towards the periphery. Unique color, one of the best ever found. Old name: Dendroconus figulinus.
Philippines. Negros. Hinigaran. 10-20 m. 2012.
