This new population is coming with individuals with superb elevated and robust body form, elevated nodules, cloudy patterns, multiple tiny pattern all around the spire and strong orange aperture with thick and unique curved lip. Huge specimen with exceptional conditions for the size and species. Look at the ventral side with superb strong orange color form, colossal thick lip with multiple denticles and deep fresh orange background color. The dorsal part is just so exquisite with phenomenal multiple kind of colors and unique designs, the Grey background color is more constant in the dorsal part. The spire present micro elegant details in pattern all around with so beautiful great effect. Elevated intact curved siphon like a tail or scorpion tail. Extra dramatic curved lip with an unique thickness. There are a scar almost lost and natural grow mark really not detracting the beauty and almost lost in the pattern , otherwise Masterpiece. Seldom seen original operculum. These mysterious species are usually buried under the granular sand in the coastal zone, between 1m to 10m deep, but they are usually in areas where there are sea urchins, which is what they like the most. But they are nocturnal and are rarely seen hunting during the day. Some are 1cm under the sand but in extreme cases and growth I have found them up to 30cm under the sand. The incredible bright orange animal with bright colors makes you think they are dangerous. I consider this species to be rare after so many years of searching for them in their territory. They are also solitary, which makes them more difficult to find, especially when they are buried, resting or growing. F++-F+++. Found buried 10-15cm in tick granulate sand between cracks of volcanic rocks about 7m deep. Islotes "el Chino", Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, Mexico. March 2025. Value for this Giant rare Grey color form and thick strong orange color aperture: 50-65 euro. Good luck and Happy shelling!!! MEXICO PACIFIC |
